The e-book will help if your homepage has a lot of big images, like the homepage at the SeaDoc Society. (Visit seadocsociety.org on a mobile phone to see the automatic detection and redirection in action.) It’ll help if your homepage has a big Flash slideshow that doesn’t show up on mobile devices. So, this book won’t help you to actually amend a given page (change the coding of the HTML, PHP, etc), but just present another page in its stead?

That’s right. For most people changing their current pages is too hard, and it sacrifices the desktop experience in favor of mobile. I was wondering how I can fix my website so that it can look great in the mobile, now thanks to this I might be able to fix it now.. I’ll start checking out the link you gave…

At first glance, I thought it is an app for phones. Turned out it is an app to make your own website look readable and easy to navigate and would fit the whole webpage on the entire screen of any high end phones?Did I get it right?

What’s with the nonsense comments?

Joe September 6, 2011 at 8:24 am

@Chris: They’re doing it for the link back to their recent post on their blog. Unimpressive, but it’s part of the deal.

@Reese: It’s not an app. It’s a set of instructions for creating a mobile friendly page, and it doesn’t port your page or site over. You have to pick what you want on your mobile page.
